The Memorial Day weekend is the “unofficial “first weekend of summer. The three day weekend everyone is excited for. Grills are uncovered from their long winters nap, freshly cut grass will fill our nostrils, and plans for the first barbecue, picnic, road trip, and water fight are put into motion. Each year my husband and I sit on our overstuffed patio furniture settled in for the perfect weekend filled with outdoor fun and memory making. Our grandchildren will be playing in the sprinklers, burgers will sizzle on the grill, and my camera will be capturing every mosquito sprayed, sunscreen slathered moment. So, I say to each of you, “rejoice the summer is here” (soon I will complain about the heat) go out and play! Have a safe and fun memorial day. Make memories, eat too much and wear your sunscreen. When Monday arrives please join me as I bow my head and remember all of the fallen soldiers that fought to keep our country free. Honor them with your smiles and your fun. They will be smiling with you.
