Put a bow on it!

You know when people say "put a fork in it" ( it's done)? Well, I'm putting a bow on it! It just seems more fitting that way.
I am done chasing my tail ( I can't catch it!) I've been trying to let everyone know this blog has moved without disturbing the giveaway in progress and it has me shouting "Stop The Insanity" ( remember Susan Powter?).

So I stray completely away from my original plan to "double blog it" and I bring you this important message.

All new blogs are now posted at Katherine's Corner's new home.

How will this effect the giveaway you ask? It won't! I have all entries from this blog recorded already. Just click here to enter the giveaway and then please head over HERE to follow along with the new blog. So much more will be happening there!
Meanwhile I will continue notifying each of you individually until you all find your way to the new digs.
I think this will be easier for everyone.I hope you agree. See you soon!
With heartfelt appreciation and

Resolutions Schmezalutions

Every year I make them, and every year I break them. So, this year no resolutions!
Instead I’ll just keep trying to…..
get rid of my menopause middle,  and
I will continue to express positive optimism.
I will continue to try and worry less.
I will continue to try and write more.
I will continue to try and wear more shoes with laces instead  of my slip ons or clogs.
I will continue to greet each new day with gratitude.
I will continue to limit my cups of tea to three.
I will continue to use, instead of look at, my elliptical machine.
I will always work at creating the best blogs, shops and websites I can.
I will continue to do the things that make me smile
I will continue to extend my hand in friendship to all who will receive it.
So, I resolve, to not make any resolutions, what about you?………

A little help please

I believe you all know how much I enjoy blogging and sharing with you. It is my continued intention to provide fun, creative and yummy blog posts. I am often overwhelmed by your friendship, participation and oh so sweet comments.Blogging brings me smiles, but blog readers bring me joy.

Today I am stepping a bit outside of my usual blog box to ask YOU for a little help.

Several of you know that I work from home because of health limitations(a little violin playing now, giggle). I try and earn money by selling things at my online Gift Shop and by selling Avon products online.
Yesterday I was informed that today it is my one year anniversary as an Avon Representative. I am considered a low performance sales representative. That stings! But it is the truth, I have 11 customers and about as many sales......

So I'm asking for a little help from you and I pray this will not make you uncomfortable or stop you from visiting Katherine's Corner.

Please click the image below if you'd like to make a purchase. Or please bookmark my Avon and Gift shop sites in your favorites for future shopping. I would really appreciate it!

Some Answers About the Odd Hair Extensions

I thought I should post some answers to a few of the questions about my wordless Wednesday post.
First let me begin by saying.....You are all so WONDERFUL!!!!
I expected silly comments and emails, but you sent such lovely comments and I felt your love and prayers
 So here goes.................
No, I did not have this done for a sleep problem.
Yes, this is me ( well the top of my head)..
No, unfortunately they have not confirmed the reason for my vertigo and tremors.
Polycythemia Vera is a bone marrow disease ( Leukemia family).
Yes, they do believe I have vertigo and tremors because of Polycythemia Vera ( I recently celebrated five years of treatments). But they insist on putting me through more tests, just in case it's something new.
Yes, I look silly.
No, It didn't hurt,  well pulling my hair out when I tried to wash the goop out was a little painful, giggle. Seriously the procedure was just uncomfortable. I've been through much worse over the past few years.
The strobe lights were used to try and induce a seizure , no I did not have a seizure. But I did get a major headache.
No the machine did not read my mind, you crack me up!
Yes, I had to stay awake for 24 hours, and it was very difficult.
Yes, I LOVE your comments and ALL of my blog readers!

Monday

For my blog Friends

For My Blog Friends
I did something today that I probably shouldn't have done. I calculated how many visitors I've had on my websites and blogs.
I thought I'd share it with you.In the past 64 hours ....
at my website Go Ask Katie I've had 132 visitors
at my shop site  Gifts By Katherine I've had 139 visitors ( but no buyers)
here at my blog Katherine's Corner I've had 59 readers (  I hope not just people on entrecard  and link referral cruising through?)

So, today I want to say THANK YOU.
Yes, thank you. Thank you to those wonderful readers who stopped in to share my thoughts, visions , stories and photos. Thank you for making comments ( I love them)  and for being my blogger friend. Instead of dwelling on the fact that my blogs and websites are being lost among the internet chaos. I am grateful. Grateful for every one of my visitors no matter how few.
But if you have any suggestions to help get more traffic to my sites and blog you know I want to hear them, giggle. HUGS!

Happy Birthday

Ah, birthdays, an annual celebration of our birth often acknowledged by friends and family with parties, presents, and lots of laughter. When I was young I would look forward to birthday parties, to playing games and eating cake. I loved playing wonderful games like pin the tail on the donkey and musical chairs. Birthday parties gave unspoken permission to laugh loudly and act silly. All of the children would eat cake until their tongues turned the color of the frosting and we would all go home with tummy aches and goodie bags.

Now I watch my grandchildren as they play rock band and electronic games. But, the cake eating and celebration remains the same.

I’m older now and it’s no longer about parties and cake. But, it is definitely about the celebration. Quietly celebrated, or shared with friends and family. It is still about the celebration. I celebrate and give thanks for another glorious year here. It’s my birthday today and it’s all about gratitude. I will have a joyous celebration of all of the blessings in my life. Of challenges met and memories made. A glorious celebration of a year of burdens lifted and carried. A truly joy filled day of thanks for everything that makes my life what it is.
So, please join me as I raise my glass to You and say Thank You. Thank you for your love, your friendship, your kindness and your participation in my life. Thank you, I am truly grateful and blessed by You.

I hope to say it all again next year too! Happy Birthday to me!

Movie -O -Holic

The sudden passing of John Hughes on August 6th started me thinking about all of the wonderful teenage angst ridden films he has provided to appreciative movie goers just like me, all over the globe. Being a self proclaimed “movie- o –holic” , complete with a full addiction to “movie theater” popcorn. I have no trouble providing a list of wonderful John Hughes films….

Mr. Mom, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty In Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Some Kind Of Wonderful, She’s Having A Baby, Planes Trains and Automobiles, The Great Outdoors, and the Chevy Chase National Lampoon Vacation’s series, are all amongst my favorite John Hughes films.

One thing I know for sure, aside from the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed all of these films, is the basic underlying theme that runs through most of them. Friendship, love, and joy come from often unlikely blends of people and personalities.
We are all works in progress, we all seek our place in the world, and we often discover our most comfortable fit can be in very unlikely places.

So, it is my true belief that you never know what life will bring your way. It’s best to just be open to new possibilities, friendships, opportunities, and experiences. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt to watch a good movie once in a while either!

Twitter Tweets

I’ve recently discovered the joy of tweeting. That’s right tweeting.
I am, I say, “ A Tweet-er”.

What is tweeting? Well it’s a little burst of information you provide to anyone who’s interested, on a site called Twitter.
You can share photos or general information. It’s a simple connection to people and friends that allows you a brief moment of information sharing.

I’m just getting started. But I find it a fun and simple way to put a message out into cyberspace.Sometimes I’m silly and sometimes I’m serious. Just like this blog. It’s like social network without all of the extras.

I invite you to stop by and to join in. Wouldn’t you like to be a tweeter too? Giggle.
Just click follow me on twitter located at the top left of my blog. I'll see you there. Tweet!

Valentine's Day

Ahhh Valentines Day! The one day of the year that retailers prompt even the least romantic person to dig deep and pronounce their love for that special someone.

This is the day when cards made from paper doilies, red roses and boxes of heart shaped candy find their way into willing hands waiting for that little question “will you be my valentine?”.
School children profess their love for their entire class by filling decorated shoeboxes with sweet treats and cards featuring their favorite characters.

Couples make a date to do something, anything that is just for them! They steal away for a romantic meal, a drive in the country or some quiet time just for themselves away from life’s chaos.

So, I recognize this romantic day by saying, every day should be Valentine’s Day!

Remember, you do not need to spend money to be romantic. Creativity and loving gestures for those you love, partners, spouses, friends, family can be easily achieved through a conscious effort and with a loving heart.

I hope you have a Happy Valentine’s Day 365 days a year!
